Hello,
I'm looking for a way to delete a folder in mailbox that has been imported some months ago. That folder contains contact that I need to update. Is there somebody who knows a way to perform such a task?
I've applied a Get-MailboxSentItemsConfiguration to a users mailbox and I noticed in the Microsoft article that it says"Note You must restart the Microsoft Information Store service for the change to take effect immediately." Does anyone know how long the change will take to apply if the Information Store is not restarted manually?

Hi,
When a meeting invite is set up between myself and another party my default reminder is set to 15 minutes.
Once the invite has already gone out and I need to update the time slot (i.e. delay the meeting by 24 hours). When I do this, the default reminder setting automatically changes from '15 minutes' to 'None' and I have to manually change it to go off at 15 minutes. Half the time, I forget to update the reminder from None to something else. Shouldn't this by default be at 15 minutes? How can I update this so that I don't have to change the reminder notification every time I update a meeting invite?
Notes:
- I do not dismiss the reminders before re-setting the meeting for another time
- This is happening to multiple people I know
- This does not happen when I set up a time slot for myself in my own calendar. This only happens when other people are invited to the meeting.
Regards.
After moving a mailbox to another database, I was trying to recover the whitespace by removing the soft-deleted mailbox from the source database and I'm getting an error:
Mailbox "user alias" doesn't exist on database "Database Name"
The command I'm running is:
Remove-StoreMailbox -Database "Database Name" -Identity "User alias" -MailboxState SoftDeleted
Is there a fix for this? This mailbox definitely is listed as a soft deleted mailbox on this database when I run this command:
Get-MailboxStatistics –Database “Database Name” | Where-Object {$_.DisconnectReason –eq “Softdeleted”}
I'm trying to create a mailbox database copy of the active databases and I'm getting the below error message. I have used the link in the error message but the site tells me that I've encountered and error that doesn't have an article written about it. So I'm turning to where I can trust getting help.
Can anyone tell me what this message is really referring to? What is causing this error?
The DB's that I'm looking to create the copies for are all roughly about 400 Gig in size. I know that’s not the recommended size and I will be creating other DB's to move users to in order reduce the size of these databases but that’s another task I have to perform. Could the size of the database be causing the error, too large to copy effectively?
Any and all help is appreciated.

Hello,
We're planning to upgrade our Exchange 2007 organization to Exchange 2010, we've created a test environment which is similar to ours, our first step is to install the EDGE 2010 server, which has given the below error.
The Version of the Edge subscription doesn't match any hub transport servers in the subscribed site
EDGE 2010 -> Windows server 2012 x64, Exchange 2010 SP3 EDGE role
HUB 2007 -> Windows server 2003 R2 SP2 X64, Exchange 2007 SP3 HUB/CAS roles
/PrepareSchema and /PrepareAD were already run and successful.
Any ideas?
We have a distribution group with a 100 members. When we send to this group, some members hit "Reply All" and it goes to all members, we would like the "Reply to" address to change to go to only one member all the time. if I try and change it to the members address, it tells me the address is already being used as a reply to and cannot be used again. Do I need to setup a contact as a forwarder to get the replies to that users mailbox?
Thanks.
Hi, I've seen similar questions about this kind of thing but nothing quite the same. We run a two node DAG with 6 databases - 1 drive (+drive letter) for each, plus 1 drive for transaction logs. These are currently all connected via in-guest iSCSI but we are changing the storage backend and will instead use direct attached vmdk on fiber channel. All the DBs are currently active on one node, so we have an entirely 'passive' node. I know there is the option to perform a database move, but it seems to me to be simpler/quicker to do the following:
- Stop the Exchange services on the passive node.
- Attach the new disks with different drive mappings.
- Copy the contents of all drives
- Swap the drive letters to the new disks
- Disconnect the old disks
- Start Exchange and let the replication catch up.
Does this sound safe enough / sensible to do?
Once everything on that node was moved, the servers would be switched and the same operation performed on the second server.
We are in
the process of testing the Exchange 2010 with DAG recovery in an isolated DR
site. The setup has 2 Exchange 2010 Servers with DAG and CAS & HT roles
co-hosted in the same server.
AD has been
fully restored in DR isolated site and working. However how do I proceed with recovering
the 1st exchange server with DAG and CAS & HT roles. I know in a production
environment if a DAG member server fails you can recover the server by
following the document where you will remove the failed server from DAG
membership and run the setup with recoverserver switch and the add DAG reference
server back to DAG.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd638206.aspx
But here
its bit tricky situation and not sure how we should remove the DAG. reference
before restore the first server. This is the first server in the isolated DR
site we are trying to recover. I also know that you when run Setup
/m:RecoverServer without removing the DAG configuration for that server, setup
fails.
Does anyone
has practically implemented this in an isolated DR site and what are the procedure
should be followed.
Many thanks

User insists that she cannot set appointments or receive delegate approval e-mail. As an example she e-mails two room resources at the same time with an appointment request and room a sends her an approval e-mail and the pending appointment shows as tentative. Room b does not respond with an approval e-mail nor puts the appointment on the calendar tentative. Both rooms are setup EXACTLY IDENTICAL and settings are as follows:
Resource General: Resources Booking Agent enabled.
Resource Policy: Allow repeat meetings, Reject repeating..., 540, 1440, 10, 25. User is listed as delegate (as am I). Forward meeting requests to delegates is checked.
Resource Information: all checked
Resource In-Policy Requests: Specify users who are allows to submit meeting requests that will be auto approved - Selected Recipients [blank], Specify who can submit in-policy meeting requests that are subject to approval by a delegate - All Users.
Resource Out-Of-Policy requests: All Users.
one of our network guys is trying to send a 16 MB attachment file.
We have his account "send message size restrictions" set to 30000KB however he gets a
#550 5.3.4 ROUTING.SizeLimit; message size exceeds fixed maximum size for route ##
I went ahead and change send connector Max size to 30000KB just for testing purposes. (I know that individual setting should overwite that). Also Transport setting is set at 31000KB for Max. sent size. now getting
#550 5.3.4 SMTPSEND.OverAdvertisedSize; message size exceeds fixed maximum size ##
We do have IronPort however i don't see this email getting to IronPort while looking through the IronPort Logs.
On exchange in message tracking i'm gettingThis message won't be sent because it's too large.
Not really sure what the issue might be at this point.
I can send 16MB internally just fine
This is one I have never ran into before, this user is not a member of any Admin groups whatsoever.
He was a former Director however. When he composes a message to anyone he can see all the mail in their inbox. .
Does anyone know what could be causing this?
Thanks,
Ken
Been having trouble getting Outlook 2010 to update the address book. I've searched and can't seem to find the answer that resolves this other than deleting the address book file and redownloading. I can't do this all the time, need to find a resolution.
Not sure this is needed but Get-OfflineAddressBook results:So we recently moved to exchange 2010, but today we saw our first incident of emails getting through our spam filters, from addresses that were spoofing our domains. Obviously, this is not acceptable.
We have SPF records setup for our domain and the Anti-Spam SenderID enabled. My question is, how did this email get through? Shouldn't the SPF check have caught that this email wasn't coming from one of our own email servers?
Perusing the internet, I've found that we can disable rights for the anonymous access on "ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-Authoritative-Domain-Sender". However, is this this only solution? All of our other outside connections (ex. marketing companies) are on our SPF record.
I thought maybe that something's misconfigured, but I've looked at all the guides and it appears to be correct. The other thing I thought would be that the "Authoritative-Domain" setting overrides SPF checking as exchange is generally permissive (IE Whitelisting). If anyone knows for sure if this is the case and can verify, it would be appreciated.
I'd like to avoid having to make individual connectors for outside vendors/devices, but will do so if needed.
Getting this when attempting an upgrade to a dedicated OAB (glorified CAS) server in my lab environment. Not able to find anything regarding this online, so hoping someone here can assist:
Client Access RoleHi all,
I hope someone out there might be able to help me.
As many of you are aware within Outlook Web App there is a 'find someone' functionality.
Is there a way that as an administrator we can restrict centrally the fields that this function see's within Active Directory?
From my research i have only come across ways of completely disabling the 'find someone' functionality but this is a bit extreme for what we want and find this functionality very useful at times.
Reason: Within Active Directory we uses the notes section under telephones for adding ticket details and would prefer that end users not have read view of this.
Thanks
Calvin
I was trying to install the first Exchange 2010 Server into an existing Exchange 2003 site,
the prerequisite and CAS and Hub Transport Roles were installed fine,
However, This was an error during the mailbox Role installation with Event ID 3154 unable the mount the Database, I check the physical path and fount out that the Actual Database Folder and Database Files does not exist.
I tried to using the add/remove feature to remove the mailbox role without success as it tells me it can not remove the public folder database.
When I attempted to restart the setup. it tells me that I need to complete the remove first.
I'm struck and desperately need some advice
thanks
